LGA latest new and announcements

Just a reminder we meet on September 1 and our guest speakers will be the five county sheriffs who will talk about crime related issues at the lake.  Meeting begins at 9:30 at the Lake Gaston Baptist Church (across from the Subway restaurant).  The public is invited.

Corey Chamberlain with Dominion Energy requests we pass the word:

In the past few weeks, Dominion Energy has received many calls from people concerned about a potential lowering of Lake Gaston. I wanted to get the word out that Dominion Energy has no plans to lower Lake Gaston for any reason.

For any questions about the lake, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Many of you knew Jack was a long time volunteer Board member with the Roanoke Wildwood Volunteer Fire Department.  In recognition of his service, the RWVFD has named their Board room in Jack's honor.  There are two doors to enter and both are so identified to recognize his exemplary service.

Please join us in setting aside some time to clean up your shoreline and nearby roadways.

We are pleased to have two guest speakers at our meeting which will be on Zoom at 9:30 AM.

RWVFD Fire Chief Lorenzo Wilkins and LGA member Sherry Herzing will speak from the heart about a topic deeply personal to each of them.  Chief Wilkins will talk about the new Ebony coverage and issues that the VFD could use help with and Sherry will talk about how the E-911 Border Response Workgroup is working on helping with Border issues for our first responders.  Learn how the task force and first responders are working together to educate the public on what they need to know to help themselves and to help our first responders get to them as fast as possible.

We think this discussion should resonate with LGA members and non members.  Watch for the email.

Our Annual Meeting on Saturday June 12 will be at the Lake Gaston Baptist Church.  I think we are all Zoomed out.  More details to come.
